Biography

Sarah coordinates LOHP’s digital communications work.  She has worked with foundations, think tanks and community-based organizations on communication projects of all types.

A former newspaper reporter, Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a joint master's degree in urban policy and planning and child development from Tufts University. As a journalist Sarah writes regularly on labor and education. She has covered low-wage work, the Early Childhood Workforce and bilingual education. In addition to her journalism, Sarah has authored Op-Eds, policy reports, white papers, issue briefs, and program evaluations. Sarah was named a 2020 Data Fellow with USC’s Center for Health Journalism for reporting on the well-being of children under 5. She recently completed a multi-year reporting project on wage theft.

She lives in Berkeley with her husband and two teenagers.
