Hestia Rojas, MPH
Biography
Hestia Rojas is a Program Coordinator with LOHP, where she is focused on addressing health and safety for youth and immigrant workers across multiple projects including WOSHTEP, OSHA Infectious Disease and YWLA. Hestia has over 10 years of experience in capacity building and program planning across multiple fields, including adolescent health, reproductive health and HIV prevention. Over the years, Hestia has developed and facilitated health education workshops in English and Spanish for a variety of audiences, including, but not limited to: teachers, middle, high school and college students; adults who have been incarcerated, clinicians, and health educators. Hestia’s work has spanned communities across Los Angeles, New York, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Prior to LOHP, Hestia managed quality improvement and capacity building projects in reproductive justice for the largest New York-based nonprofit. She also worked as Peace Corps volunteer, integrating sexual and reproductive health into a middle school curriculum. Hestia holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Southern California.
